caring for your products

It is important to understand how to care for any products purchased from our online store. We want to ensure that your beautiful purchases stay beautiful so here's a guide to help you care for your precious crystals & jewellery.

Gemstones can be sensitive to natural light, heat and chemicals. I have a few suggestions to keep your gems looking in perfect condition.

Do not expose your crystals to any unnecessary heat; this can cause them to crack, break, fade or fracture. These stones are found deep within the earth so they have to be treated with gentle care to ensure longevity.

Crystals such as Amethyst, Ametrine, Citrine, Smoky Quartz, Aquamarine, Beryl, Rose Quartz, Aventurine will change colour if left in direct sunlight so avoid where possible to preserve the natural crystal colours, this does include many others not listed in the above.

Jewellery Care

Remove any rings before washing your hands including swimming activities. If you use hand santiser then please be mindful to take extra care of the jewellery as these chemicals can make the appearance of the crystal become dull if in contact including alcoholic substances.

Should your jewellery require a shimmy, use cool water and a soft cloth that is non scratch we recommend a jewellery cloth.

Do not sleep in your jewellery; chains can easily tangle and break. Claw set stones in rings and pendants can snag on fabric and pull the setting, releasing the stone.

Some gemstones are relatively soft and will scratch if left in the pocket of a handbag or mixed with other jewellery in a pouch. Malachite, Apatite, Fluorite, Amber, jet and Selenite are just some of these gemstones.
